JAPANESE WOOD KOKESHI DOLL BEAUTIFUL "MOMIJI" MAPLE LEAVES BY TOSHIO SEKIGUCHI !

Description

This very beautiful Japanese wood sosaku creative kokeshi doll measures 7" high and 9.25" in circumference around her head.  She was designed by a most respected kokeshi doll artist - Toshio Sekiguchi - who has won numerous top awards in Japan for his truly outstanding kokeshi doll creations, including one for this doll.  Her name is "Momiji" which translates to "Maple Leaves".
This kokeshi doll is wearing a lovely green kimono that is decorated with maple leaves that graduate in color from red to orange to yellow.  All around the leaves, the artist carved tiny divots and filled them with a glitter-like material so that the kokeshi doll elegantly shimmers and sparkles.  Her beautifully gentle, feminine facial features are just gorgeous with pink cheeks, framed by her long hair.  The artist's famous red stamp/chop is on the bottom.  Please see below for flaws.
This pretty kokeshi doll is in wonderful vintage condition - hard to find many flaws other than a few minor dings on her hair - and she would make a great addition to your growing collection.  White areas are camera glare.
Please remember that this is a vintage doll that may have minor imperfections, such as dust/dirt/dings/scratches/scuffs/age spots.
