This is a reproduction of the Russian AK-50 Compressor wrench set that came in every Yak 52 toolbox.
These hand made wrenches, made from heat-treated Chromoly, polished and
    gold
zinc-plated. come with a lifetime guarantee.
Over 150 of TYC’s Compressor wrenches have been sold since 2018 when we first released them.
To make removing the compressor easier we recommend taking the extra time to remove the heater muff, highlighted in blue in the engine compartment photo.
If you have had your Yak, Nanchang or Sukhoi for a little while, you will know about the legendary “sixth nut” when trying to remove the AK50 Air Compressor.
Five are easily accessed with the long curved wrench, the sixth, (hidden behind the body of the compressor) requires a little ‘body English’ - and is what the short wrench is for.
I’m left-handed so my approach may not work for you, but when undoing this sixth nut I recommend you:-
~ locate the 12 point ring of the short wrench over the nut in question with the tip of your right index finger, while holding the square handle out at the 8 o’clock position with your left hand.
~ push the 12 point ring fully onto the nut ( all this is hidden from sight) then you can apply counterclockwise rotation to loosen and remove the nut.
(Warrantied shear couplings and gaskets are available here on Fishmouth500’s eBay site)
I’d love to use the assembly instruction catch phrase “ installation is the reverse of removal”, if only that were remotely true!
Fortunately Todd Bohlman (eBay seller “Diego Todd”) has gone the distance in creating a tool to get that nightmare nut started, without which the frustration associated with this exercise will be ALL you’ll remember about removing the compressor, replacing the sheared coupling and any gaskets, then replacing the six nuts.
For Todd’s nut positioning tool, search on “ Compressor nut installation tool kit…. You’ll be glad you did!!
Termikas recommend 61-78 inch lbs of torque for the AK-50 Compression nuts.
