    If your Yak, Sukhoi or Nanchang’s air compressor isn’t making enough air, here’s an alternative to assuming an expensive rebuild is needed.
    In the side section view, you can see the layout of the exit port (with its familiar banjo fitting) - it’s lined up with the step in the piston’s wall to allow the second stage charge to exit through this exhaust valve.
    Leakage will occur when the seat on the square piston has become rounded and worn.
    Use a 22mm wrench to remove the old valve body. The exploded view diagram shows the spring and piston in the correct orientation as you reassemble the downstream banjo fitting.
    Use enough torque to deform the new crush washer provided.
