Vintage Salvadore Romero Cochiti Pueblo Roadrunner fetish carving. Carved in the mid 1990's. Measures about 5 1/4 long, 1 1/4" deep, 2 1/2" tall.  Excellent condition. Red Pipestone
Unusual for Salvadore because this was not a "found" Cochiti stone.  Made from red pipestone, which generally comes from Minnesota. Many Native Americans have used this material for hand carved pipes.
Purchased by me in Santa Fe, New Mexico circa 1999.
This piece needs a stable shelf, as the base is not very big.  It sits fine on a bookshelf.
